1351. When the plauge had ended there were still continuous outbreaks for the next 60 years! The Black Death got its name because it caused blackening of the skin or buboes. The Black Death was spread by fleas, that rode on rats and other small rodents. The Black Death was believed to have originated from the Gobi Desert. The plauge spread through trade routes. The 1328 outbreak in China caused the population to drop from 125 million to 90 million in just 50 years. 7500 people died or were dying from the disease everyday. |
